Mi blog

This is the excerpt for your very first post.

These are my maternal grandparents. See the beautiful lady on the right? Best storyteller, ever! Love you and thank you for all those scary stories!

I am not only pursuing storytelling and writing full time, but I am a full-time grad student as well. I am currently taking a grant writing course at UTEP (University of Texas at El Paso). Go Miners! For people like me, who have been out of the college scene for a while, I am enrolled in a program that is completely online. Thus, all the students and professors I work with are online. I only know them through this BlackBoard interphase. One of the students in my class, insisted I start a blog to inform El Pasoans about the projects I am working on to increase awareness of storytelling as a performance art.

First project: I got the green light from the Tejas Storytelling Association to start an official storytelling guild in EP!

I will be recruiting at the El Paso Writers’ League Annual Book Festival and Open House on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Dorris Van Dorn Public Library from 12:30 pm to 5 pm. You can meet our local authors and, if you have the writing bug, join the league!

Don’t forget you can also join the

Storytelling Guild of El Paso or…

El Paso Storytelling Guild or…

Cuentacuentos of El Paso or…

El Paso Cuentacuentos?…

Don’t know the name yet!

I need your help!

  2. Mrs. Aguirre! I am so excited for you! I’m delighted to see you follow your dreams. Please don’t forget us at Herrera…I absolutely love your storytelling skills, and would be honored to have you keep presenting at our annual Día de Los Niños – Día de Los Libros (Children’s Day – Book Day) storytelling festival. It always takes place on the last Saturday of April @ the Herrera library. Hope you can join us! And best of luck on your “cuentacuentos” journey.
